Let’s face it, 2020 has been one of the most challenging years companies have ever had to face, and has been full of trials and tribulations. This is why it’s so important to celebrate success and foster positivity in the workplace, now more than ever.
The hard work each and every employee has brought to the table day in and day out, has allowed businesses to push through, and still have success. Even if those successes were not financial, companies can and should celebrate their resilience, adaptability, and team building skills.
Whether you plan on celebrating together safely in-person or virtually, here are some ways that you can celebrate your team’s successes this year:
Throw a Virtual Holiday Party:
Not only are holiday office parties fun, but they’re also the perfect way to get together with your team and reminisce about all of your accomplishments throughout the year. Even though in-person holiday celebrations may not happen this year, you can still celebrate with a virtual holiday party.
Have everyone dress up in their best holiday attire, grab a drink, and discuss some of the company’s biggest successes from 2020. To spread even more holiday cheer, you could send each member of your team a gift beforehand, and have them open it during the virtual party!
Partake in a Virtual Game Night:
Playing games together is not only a wonderful team building activity, but it’s a great way to show your gratitude for all of the hard work your team put in this past year. The best part? Virtual game nights are extremely easy to set up, and you can use Zoom for many different games.
All you have to do is randomly split everyone up into two different teams, gather any materials that you may need, and get ready to play! Some games that you can play over Zoom include Scattergories, Pictionary, Charades, Heads Up, and more!
Give Your Employees the Day Off:
One of the best ways to celebrate all of your company’s successes this year is to give everyone a day off. 2020 has been full of change, uncertainty and frankly, a lot of difficult times. Employees have been working so hard, while also having to adapt to working remotely, and have been amazing through it all. A day off gives everyone a chance to relax, unwind, and to look back at all of the goals they’ve hit so far. To make their day off extra special, give your team off on a Monday or Friday, which will allow them to enjoy a nice, long, three day weekend.
